Author & Speaker

I live my ultimate life daily, under any circumstances.

Even inside a federal prison. Your ultimate life isn't a destination you arrive at when conditions finally cooperate — it's the daily choices you make right where you are: aligning to your purpose, serving others however you can, and making the most of whatever situation you're standing in. I'm still inside. I'm still doing the work every day. And everything in these books is built to work wherever you're starting from.

My Ultimate Life

From Prison to Purpose

How I broke free from my past, found my purpose, and learned to live fully every day. This isn't a framework told from the outside looking in — it's my story, with the Five Paths I built along the way (Purpose, Health, Money, Love, and Transformation) woven directly into it. Part memoir, part practical guide, it's for anyone doing the real work of building a life worth having.

The Idea

What it means to live your ultimate life

It's not a place you arrive. It's how you choose to live today — and then again tomorrow.

Aligning to your purpose

Knowing what you're actually here to do, and letting that shape your decisions instead of drifting through someone else's plan for your life.

Serving others where you are

Not when you have more time, more money, or better circumstances. With what you have, right now, in the situation you're actually in.

Continued growth and learning

Treating every season — including the hard ones — as material. Reading, studying, practicing, and getting measurably better at being who you want to be.

Daily reflection and intention

Checking in with yourself honestly. Noticing what's working, naming what isn't, and choosing your next step on purpose rather than on autopilot.

Making the most of any situation

Circumstances set the conditions. They don't set the ceiling. There is always something available to build with, even when it doesn't look like much.

Consistency over intensity

Ultimate living isn't dramatic. It's the small, repeated choices nobody applauds — made on the days you least feel like making them.

About Douglas Farrar Jr.

Douglas Farrar Jr.

Douglas Farrar Jr.

Author & Speaker

Douglas Farrar Jr. has spent the last twenty years as a dedicated seeker of knowledge — studying quantum physics, self-actualization, manifestation, goal achievement, and various religions and belief systems, and doing the deep work of transforming negative beliefs, patterns, and emotions. That study became the foundation for Your Ultimate Life, his framework for helping people discover and live out their unique purpose.

The conduct behind his conviction — a non-violent drug conspiracy — took place in 2013. Douglas was arrested on April 20, 2018, and sentenced to 20 years. Rather than let that time go to waste, he kept building: in 2022, he created Your Ultimate Life and has been sharing it ever since — first in a classroom setting, then through one-on-one mentoring. After seven years of experimenting and learning, he developed the Ultimate Recovery System in 2024, a five-layer framework built to help a person heal as a whole: soul/spiritual, emotional, mental, somatic/energy, and physical.

He has shared these tools with more than 50 fellow incarcerated men, helping each of them move forward in some way, and has personally guided 20 of them to identify their unique purpose in life. In 2026, FPC Montgomery's reentry department accepted Your Ultimate Life as an official pilot program, set to launch in October 2026. With time credits earned along the way, Douglas is now projected for release in May 2028 — and he plans to carry this work forward directly into that next chapter.

His first book, Stop Visiting God. Start Living With Him., released September 18, 2026 — co-written with John Hick, a preacher who has walked as a believer for 26 years and preached for the last 25. The two men set out to write the book on relationship with God they'd each wanted for years — the real kind, not the surface-level kind.

The Program

Your Ultimate Life for Reentry

Piloting with FPC Montgomery's Reentry Department, launching October 2026

A framework built inside, now being tested where it matters most

Your Ultimate Life and the Ultimate Recovery System weren't developed in a university lecture hall or a corporate offsite — they were built by Douglas Farrar Jr. from inside federal custody, tested directly on the people around him before anyone else ever saw them.

What Your Ultimate Life does

A 12-week curriculum built around four outcomes — delivered through weekly facilitated classes, peer Empowerment Circles, and guided alignment practice.

01
Discover and align to your unique purpose

Values clarification, finding your why, and the work of knowing what you're actually here to do.

02
Set meaningful goals

S.M.A.R.T.E.R. goal-setting across all Five Paths — Purpose, Health, Money, Love, and Transformation.

03
Build a life plan for a life that matters

Turning goals into an actionable blueprint with daily steps, habit tracking, and real accountability.

04
Break free from what holds you back

Identifying and transforming the limiting beliefs, destructive patterns, fears, and doubts standing between you and the life you want.

Running alongside it, the Ultimate Recovery System works across five layers to help a person heal as a whole:

Soul / Spiritual
Emotional
Mental
Somatic / Energy
Physical

Prison Professors feature: Douglas Farrar Jr. — Turning learning into a plan
“
I am impressed by the work you are sharing.
Michael SantosFounder, Prison Professors

Michael Santos — founder of Prison Professors and a nationally recognized voice on prison reform and reentry preparation — wrote a public letter recognizing Douglas's work on the platform, pointing to his action-plan journals, his outline for a proposed guide called Doing Time Right, and his reflections on learning to communicate clearly. Prison Professors also published a separate feature profiling how Douglas connects what he studies to concrete plans for the future.

Beyond the Books

Support the next chapter

These books are the beginning, not the end. What comes next is bringing this work to the people who need it most — at-risk youth, justice-impacted individuals, and those in substance abuse recovery — through a nonprofit built to walk alongside them.

I'm building this from a place with real limits. Every dollar of support removes one of them. If something here has meant something to you, this is the most direct way to help it reach the next person.

Support on Ko-fi One-time gifts or monthly support — whichever fits.
Where your support goes
  • Printing and publishing costs
  • Developing new free content and resources
  • Building toward the mentorship nonprofit

Every contribution goes directly into this work — no overhead, no middle layer.

Ways to help

  • Buy a book. The most direct support there is. Stop Visiting God is available now; My Ultimate Life arrives December 12.
  • Give directly. One-time or monthly through Ko-fi, or Cash App at $winwithdoug.
  • Share the story. Post it, forward it, tell one person who needs it. Reaching the right reader matters as much as anything financial.
  • Offer a skill. Design, editing, web work, publishing know-how, nonprofit experience — if you have it and can spare some, it's genuinely useful.
  • Open a door. Know a church, reentry program, recovery organization, or someone in publishing or media? An introduction can change everything.
  • Just reach out. Tell me what resonated, or what you're working through. Send a message — that kind of support counts too.

Anything and all things help. None of it goes unnoticed.
